Here at Palmer Tree Care we take your tree care needs very seriously. Although sometimes removal is the only option, whenever we can, we recommend a plant health care program that allows you to keep your tree as healthy and as beautiful as possible. With International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborists on staff we always use the most up-to-date techniques and pruning practices to ensure the prolonged health of your plants. Our professional and courteous staff do their best to accommodate your every need, leaving job sites cleaner than when they arrived.
Tree Removals Lot Clearing
This is a basic arborist service, and we take pride in doing it well. From dangerous removals in backyards, to multiple removals in more distant locations, to lot clearing to storm damaged trees – we do it all, leaving the site cleaner than when we found it. We employ a variety of equipment and techniques to get any job done including a bucket truck, chippers, climbing arborists and a variety of pole and extension trimmers. At Palmer Tree Care we always give our honest opinion and removal may not always be advised. If possible, we will try and conserve a tree, sometimes by recommending a pruning program or other healthcare options.
Pruning
Removing limbs is a first approach for achieving balance and beauty, avoiding damage to infrastructure, ensuring safety, and maintaining the overall health of the tree. Big, small, or tall, Palmer Tree Care can do it all! Our diverse pruning equipment also allows us to work in almost any location, from backyards, to roadside, to hillsides and over water. We also do island work and can go to any site even if there is only water access. Proper modern pruning practices are always strictly adhered to, so the health of the tree is never impacted. Our pruning cuts are done in the proper way so that the tree can heal over and keep out infection in the most efficient way possible.
Hedge Trimming
Hedges are a great way to gain privacy for your property, but only if they are healthy and well maintained. An unruly hedge can be an eye-sore, unhealthy, and possibly even dangerous.
Regular maintenance by Palmer Tree Care is always recommended. Bringing back an overgrown hedge to its former height and glory is much less cost effective than regular maintenance since harsh cutbacks can stress the trees or shrubs that comprise the hedge.
Stump Grinding
Once a tree has been removed there is always that pesky stump left behind which can be a pain to mow grass around, be a tripping hazard, present a barrier for additional construction projects, or is some cases regrow unsightly epicormic growth, defeating the purpose of removing the tree in the first place. While stump grinding may not always be necessary, we at Palmer Tree Care have the skills and capacity to remove the entire stump and any surface roots that accompany the stump. Also ask about our soil and seeding program so that you will never even notice there was a tree in that location!
Tree Planting
There are so many benefits to trees. Adding a new tree to your property’s landscape will not only beautify the area but it will add enjoyment for many lifetimes to come. Palmer Tree Care can source the proper trees for your specific landscape and climate, plant them with topsoil and mulch and provide adequate support and protection. Bolting & Cabling
Trees have a potential to split and an otherwise healthy tree may need some structural support to ensure the tree's long life and your safety. Cables are durable and flexible and can be installed in a tree so that they do not cause any harm, but offer important support. At Palmer Tree Care we use Cobra® cables, but in special circumstances also threaded rods for bolting, as recommended by the best practices of the International Society of Arboriculture.
Plant Health Care
At Palmer Tree Care, we care about the overall health of your trees. Not only do we provide consulting services as to the condition of your woodlot or landscaped trees on your property, but we also offer fertilization services and stress mitigation recommendations. Pest Control
We also offer specific control options for tree pests. For example, gypsy moths are an invasive species that can spread quickly reaching massive infestation levels in just a few years. The caterpillars can defoliate entire forests and give a nasty rash on the skin if you come in contact with them. Palmer Tree Care offers different control methods at various times of the year from spraying egg masses with horticultural oil and spraying young caterpillars with organic pest control products including bacteria, Baccilus thurigensis kurstaki (BtK). We can install mechanical traps for large caterpillars to be captured at night and pheromone traps so that numbers of gypsy moth adults can be estimated.
Brush Chipping & Wood Processing
From chipping brush to processing firewood, Palmer Tree Care can do it all! We can remove all plant material from your site using a wide range of machinery. Or alternatively, we can leave selected wood on your property. Just ask and we can leave logs for your fireplace, outdoor furnace or fire pit. Or you can even request that we supply you with wood chips for your garden beds. Whatever we can do to help!
