Who We Are

Brendan Palmer pursued studies at Mount Royal University, where his passion for climbing led him to obtain an arborist diploma. After working in urban forestry in Calgary, he returned to Ontario for his ISA qualifications, and eventually started his own tree service business in 2019.

Since then, Palmer Tree Service has been committed to enhancing the beauty, enjoyment, and safety of properties in and around Kingston, Sharbot Lake, Napanee, and beyond.

At Palmer Tree Care, we prioritize your tree's health and beauty. While removal is sometimes necessary, we often recommend plant health care programs. Our ISA-certified arborists use the latest techniques to ensure your trees thrive. Our professional staff ensures job sites are left cleaner than when they arrived. We service Gananoque, Kingston, Napanee, Sharbot lake and everything in between.

We employ a variety of equipment and techniques to get any job done including a bucket truck, chippers, climbing arborists and a variety of pole and extension trimmers. At Palmer Tree Care we always give our honest opinion and removal may not always be advised. If possible, we will try and conserve a tree, sometimes by recommending a pruning program or other healthcare options.

Our diverse pruning equipment also allows us to work in almost any location, from backyards, to roadside, to hillsides and over water. We also do island work and can go to any site even if there is only water access. Proper modern pruning practices are always strictly adhered to, so the health of the tree is never impacted. Our pruning cuts are done in the proper way so that the tree can heal over and keep out infection in the most efficient way possible

Hedge Trimming

Hedges are a great way to gain privacy for your property, but only if they are healthy and well maintained.

Hedge Trimming

An unruly hedge can be an eye-sore, unhealthy, and possibly even dangerous. Regular maintenance by Palmer Tree Care is always recommended. Bringing back an overgrown hedge to its former height and glory is much less cost effective than regular maintenance since harsh cutbacks can stress the trees or shrubs that comprise the hedge.

Stump Grinding

If you have an unsightly tree stump, we have the skills and capacity to remove the entire stump and any surface roots.

Once a tree has been removed there is always that pesky stump left behind which can be a pain to mow grass around, be a tripping hazard, present a barrier for additional construction projects, or is some cases regrow unsightly epicormic growth, defeating the purpose of removing the tree in the first place. Also ask about our soil and seeding program so that you will never even notice there was a tree in that location!

Bolting & Cabling

Trees have a potential to split and an otherwise healthy tree may need some structural support to ensure the tree's long life and your safety. Cables are durable and flexible and can be installed in a tree so that they do not cause any harm, but offer important support. At Palmer Tree Care we use Cobra® cables, but in special circumstances also threaded rods for bolting, as recommended by the best practices of the International Society of Arboriculture.
